Comments/Directions:
Approximate one mile ride located in city park. Located on a wooded site, the layout will include structures and "movie" style buildings to add to the enjoyment of the rider. With motive power to include two Ottaway steam engines, one Ottaway F-7, and, a new engine modeled after the GE-Dash 9, the train ride provide a variety of engine and train consists. In addition, like a table top set the layout will be added to as time and money permits. In addition to the ride it is anticipated that events will occur during rides on special occasions. For example, the first train robbery west of the Mississippi occured here in Randolph County.
A club is to be organized to provide volunteers, and, local clubs have agreed to sponsor rides on certain weekends. Please contact Moberly Parks and Recreation for additional information or contact J. W. Ballinger, III, chairperson of the project. Pictures and more information will be submitted as the ride is placed into operation and as improvements are made.
