Comments/Directions: This depot was originally located at 10th and Main Street in Joplin. They say it had to be moved because the railroad was "decommissioning" all unused property. The site is now the location of a railroad scrap material yard and is full of rails, wheels, etc. The depot was painstakingly disassembled stone by stone. Each was numbered and mapped and was placed in an empty lot for years waiting for a new purpose. Eventually, it was rebuilt as a restaurant on another site, which also happens to sit alongside of railroad tracks, but the business seems to ignore that relationship. The depot is now the Timberline Steakhouse. A large photo of the original depot is on display just inside the door. --Last I heard Timberline went out of business
