Comments/Directions:
The Frisco built their Freight Depot after acquiring in 1903 the Ozark and Cherokee Central (O&CC) rr, which had built lines east to Fayetteville, AK in 1901. It is a relatively long and narrow (50' x 200') brick structure with a 2 story administrative section at the east end and 11 freight bays. It is a rather plain red brick warehouse building with minimal decorative embellishments or high style architecture. It is listed on the National Register as part of the Muskogee Railroad and Freight District (2001). Owned by the city, it currently is occupied by a music and event establishment - the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame & Museum has operated since about 1996. The freight depot was substantially remodeled and enlarged about 1920, at about the period when the MV built their extant depot that sits diagonally across the intersection of So. 3rd St./Elgin Ave. Also, across 3rd St. from the Frisco freight depot sits their extant Frisco yard office building (steel siding and roof). A steel, cupola wide-view caboose sits south of the depot and is attached to the south side of the building. The 2-mile segment of the "Centennial South" hike/bike trail runs from 4th Street at the freight depot heading west to 32nd Street (US 69/64).

Comments/Directions:
The Wales West Light Railway is the only Welsh Victorian Steam Powered Railway in the America's. This authentic 24" guage railway is powered by the 1st. new Port Class Hunslet steam loco built in Britian in 83 years. The name of this new loco is "Dame Ann". There is also a Simplex diesel named "Gareth". These two locos pull a train of 4 wheel bread box passenger vans over a mile long railway full of tight turns and steep grades. The train departs from A beautiful British style, Victorian station with a gift shop & tea room filled with unique gifts, snacks, and memorabilia collected in the UK.
There is also an active 1/2 mile long 7.5" guage track with transfer table & steaming bays that can be used by hobbyest. It is open all year with two steam-up weekends each year. This system is managed by an active club. The club members have a variaty of steam, gas, and electric locos and rolling stock in operation during our fall & spring steam-ups.
The railway surrounds a very highly rated RV Resort. The resort has big rig friendly pull-thru sites with full hook-ups, 30& 50 amp service, heated indoor pool and spa, cable TV, full laundry, e-mail access, meeting rooms, store, and much more all at affordable prices.
The RV Resort is open all year. The railways are open to the public on the weekends. During the week the railways are available for school field trips and parties. The 7.5" track is always open to hobbyest. Many special events are also presented throughout the year (see www.waleswest.com for a calander of events).
